Automated Character Set Tests (require JavaScript)
These pages help you find out whether your browser correctly decodes
certain character sets.
Manual Character Set Tests
These pages help you find out whether your browser correctly decodes certain
character sets, but the testing is manual: You'll have to view the pages and
compare to the reference images. You could also look at these pages to find out
what characters are available for a given character set.
UTF-8 Pages with Reference Images
These pages have reference images so you can check the fonts on your system.
Character Code Finder
This allows you to copy text from somewhere else, and it will show you the UTF-16
codes in the text, with a few different output options.
Japanese Kana Generator
This uses JavaScript to generate hiragana and katakana based on the romaji you enter, and can handle some romaji shorthand that might have been used to make the romaji more readable (or less ambiguous). This isn't really as powerful as the Japanese IME that comes with Windows XP (especially since it doesn't try to guess kanji), but it handles some sequences that IMEs don't by default, and may be useful if you are having problems with the Japanese IME or if you are using a different operating system. It also works if you copy and paste romaji from elsewhere, even if it includes circumflex or macron accents.
Advanced Japanese Kana Generator
This is an extended version of the kana generator above, allowing multi-line input and mixed romaji, hiragana, and katakana output.
Japanese Romanizer
This uses JavaScript to take hiragana and katakana pasted in, and attempts to produce romaji.
Korean Hangul Generator
This uses JavaScript to generate hangul syllabic blocks based on romanized text you enter or copy and paste.
Korean Linear Hangul Generator
This uses JavaScript to generate linear hangul based on romanized text you enter or copy and paste.
